Award Winning Gumbo Gallery Celebrates 4 Year Anniversary
Artist Sonja Griffin Evans and the Gumbo Gallery of Pensacola have been recognized with the Flame Keepers Award for Art Galleries for 2013 at the African Diaspora World Tourism Awards held on April 27, 2013 in Atlanta, Georgia. The award is presented to art galleries that have exemplary paintings, sculptures and art displays depicting black culture, heritage and life styles that have generated traffic in their galleries and thereby contributing to tourism. Sonja Griffin’s Gumbo Gallery was recognized along with the IFAN Museum of African Arts located in Senegal, Africa.
